Evidence-Based Couples Therapy That Can Help You
Stop negative cycles of conflict and rebuild trust in your relationship again
You might be…
caught in painful, repeating arguments that never feel fully resolved
feeling misunderstood, shut down or criticized despite your best efforts to get your partner to understand you
afraid that conflict is slowly eroding your relationship
wanting to share your pain and longings with your partner in ways that bring you closer to one another rather than further apart
exhausted by cycles of disconnection and in search of a way back towards intimacy and trust
You and your partner aren’t the enemy, it’s the cycle that’s keeping you stuck.
You want to mend things, but more often than not, revisiting the conversation just triggers the very cycle of disconnection you’re trying to heal from. You know you love your partner, but the clutter of unresolved ruptures is taking a toll on your relationship. You want relief.
Couples Therapy is a place to slow down and finally feel heard. Together we will map out the harmful pattern of conflict, bring structure to hard conversations and get to know the deeper longings driving the cycle so you can feel emotionally close and safe with one another again.
Hi. I’m Taylor.
I’m here to help.
I help adults and couples build more secure, easeful relationships with themselves and others using trauma-informed models to heal attachment wounds, relational trauma and learned nervous system responses. Often clients come to me because they are struggling to safe in their bodies and show up authentically with the important others in their lives. Through our work together, they learn to navigate triggers, rebuild trust, shed shame and discover new ways of navigating conflict, intimacy and closeness.
As a trauma and couples therapist, this work is personal to me. I stand on the shoulders of the therapists, mentors, loved ones and friends who have mirrored my goodness back to me at times when my own vision was impaired by generational wounds. These experiences inform the relationships I build with my clients.
I believe in your innate capacity for healing and growth. There is a world where you can feel safe in your body and in your relationships. Healthier, more fulfilling connections are within reach, and you don’t have to figure it out alone.
Therapy Services
Couples Therapy
When communication keeps ending in the same painful place, it can start to feel hopeless. Through Emotionally Focused Therapy, I help couples slow down the cycle, rebuild emotional safety, and reconnect in ways that create lasting change. You don’t have to keep having the same fight, let’s stop the cycle together!
Trauma Therapy
You’ve done the insight work, but knowing hasn’t created the shift you’re longing for. Trauma therapy can help you move beyond survival mode and into a deeper sense of connection, safety, and aliveness. Together, we’ll work gently with the parts of you that learned to stay vigilant so you can begin truly feeling like yourself again.
Ready for Something New?
Here’s how to get started
Book a free consultation call!
I offer a free, 20-minute phone or video call for you to ask me any and all of your questions. I often use consult calls as a way for you to “try on” my style and see how it feels to be together as you share about what is bringing you in to therapy. To support this, I ask that you join our call from a private place.
Schedule your first session!
Near the end of the call, I’ll check in to see how you felt. If it feels like a good fit, we will talk about logistics and find a time to meet for our first session!
Start Healing!
We will begin working slowly, intentionally and experientially with you or your relationship during our weekly or bi-weekly sessions. I use evidenced-based approaches to guide our work and focus on the present moment experience unfolding in front of us. My goal is for you to leave our first session feeling heard and understood as well as some hope that things will improve.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
I am considered an out of network mental health provider.
I am happy to provide a superbill for you to send to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please check with your insurance company about your out of network benefits, as many plans cover a portion of the session cost.
-
Working outside the bounds of insurance allows me to focus on what is best for you, not what is best for insurance companies. No required diagnoses, no surprise billing issues or lapses in care and no limitations to the number of sessions. I can fully protect your confidentiality without needing share diagnoses or treatment plans with insurance companies and the time that would otherwise be spent managing insurance claims gets reinvested directly back into focusing on your care.
-
My style with both couples and individuals is deeply experiential and about meeting the emotions and patterns arising in the present moment while you are sitting on the couch in session. I work slowly and intentionally to move towards to root of the problem.
-
I offer 60 minute sessions for both couple and individuals. I ask that new clients come in weekly or bi-weekly as we begin working together. This allows us to gain momentum and get comfortable with one another. Overtime, as symptoms improve many clients reduce the frequency of their sessions. The length of therapy varies from person to person. Some people come in for 6 months to address specific life stressors while others approach therapy as a regular wellness practice like exercise or meditation.
-
I reserve a few reduced rate slots for clients with limited resources who identify as BIPOC or LGBTQIA+. Please let me know that you are interested in one of these slots when you reach out. If these slots are currently full or my rate does not fit your financial needs, I will be happy to offer referrals and alternate resources.
